What is the proper etiquette/procedure to follow up on a job interview?   6 comments

I just had an interview for a great job, and the interviewer gave me her card. How long should I wait to follow up with her? (I am assuming that she opened the door for me to do so by giving me her card.)

  1. Send a thank you card regarding the interview immediately, and follow up within 2-3 days..

  2. Send her a thank you within 24 Hours! Thats what the card is for. Also, did she say how long it would take for her to follow up with you? If not, give her 5-7 days, then call her. Good Luck!!

  5. The morning after a really great interview for a job you want to follow up with a short and simple thank you note. A carefully worded note on simple personalized stationary will go a long way without making you look desperate.

Make sure your note includes thanking your prospective employer for his/her valuable time as well as working in the job title of the position you are seeking. Keep the note short (two to three lines at most) and hand write it. Nothing seems more impersonal than a computer generator form letter. Finally, sign the letter ‘Sincerely’ and you will have a from the heart and to the point thank you that will keep your name ontop of the stack.

    Hope this helps!

  6. 4 to 5 business days. You should also today drop a simple thank you card in the mail addressed to the company with her name included. Something simple like: Thank you for the opportunity to interview for this position, it was a pleasure to meet with you!

Hope you get it=:>) good luck
