How soon to follow up after applying for a job/internship? 2 comments

I recently applied for an internship. I also read that it is a good idea to follow up with a call or a letter( ‘follow up your application with a phone call, a letter or even a visit. Your interest and enthusiasm will distinguish you from other job seekers’). But how soon is it appropriate to follow up?

I would wait a week roughly and follow up with a letter or a phone call. If you are interviewed, make sure that you follow up with a thank you letter also.

Send a thank you note the next day. If you don’t hear anything in a week give them a call – after that forget it until you hear from them again but you probably won’t at that point.
