How long should I wait before placing a follow up call after I applied for an internship? What do I say? 2 comments

I applied for an internship last Monday and I received a confirmation email saying they received my application and would contact me if they had any further questions or wanted to schedule an interview. So far I received another email from them or a phone call. Should I call to follow up? And what do I say?

Usually the period to wait for a call back is 2 weeks maximum.
After this time, if you still do not hear from them, it wouldn’t hurt
to give them a call and check in to see what’s the status of your
application. Good luck!
