Is it advisable to follow up on a submitted resume more than once?   2 comments

I applied for a job at another company 2 weeks ago. A week later I sent a follow-up e-mail expressing my continued interest in the position, and they sent me an acknowledgement e-mail back – a “Thank you for your application, we are reviewing them” kind of thing. Now it’s another week later…should I follow up again, or is that considered pestering? If I do follow up, what should I say this time?

  1. You need to follow up. They like it when people are persistent. It might even help if you did it in person.

  2. no it’s not advisable. in europe you don’t send resume one after another otherwise they will not take you seriously. but give them time to read your CV at least one week or 10 days. give time to the human resources to take a look at it study your capabilities. after 10 days give them a call saying such ” i am coming to call for the follow up of my candidature that i posted on such a date” as you didn’t give me any signs of possibility to be part of your staff I would like to know my position where i am standing concerning my candidature.
I would like to request that you see me personally to prove you my capabilities and qualification that all the statement mentioned therein in my CV are true and i am ready to give proof on your request.
then of course when you follow up your CV you have to ask on the line the human resources responsible, more likely she is a woman, but if he is a man then consider yourself lucky, men for general are more amical towards women but if she’s a woman to woman then the reception would be more uneasy feeling. but be polite though.
