What happens at the follow up appointment for a D and C? 2 comments

I had a D and C almost 2 weeks ago and I have my follow up appointment in 2 days. I couldn’t find much about info about the follow up appointment except that it’s pretty painful. What actually happens at these appointments?
I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago and had a D & C procedure (Dilatation and curettage).
